Aviva Royal I, a unique, single-premium, investment life insurance concept, has racked up a first coupon of 12.5%. On the first evaluation date, 15 December 2009, the price of all the shares in the share basket was up more than 70% on the initial price and consequently conditions for payment of the first coupon were met.
Aviva Royal I was the first in the range of single premium, capital guaranteed investment life insurance products created in a joint venture between Aviva životní pojišovna and Société Générale.
The product was tailored to respond to the current turbulent market conditions and bring returns not only from rising but also from stagnating and slightly falling markets. This investment scheme not only offers customers a guaranteed payout of 100% of the premium invested at the end of the agreed six-year term, but also possible appreciation of up to 75% (ie up to 12.5% a year) of the premium invested over that term. The figure comes from two independent, complementary calculation methods. The higher of the two is used for the final return over the term of the policy.
Karel Veselý, general manager of Aviva životní pojišovna, as, gave his thoughts on the first evaluation: “We are delighted to be able to report this fantastic news to our customers, particularly during an economic recession, when the situation on the share markets is not entirely stable. When selecting the various shares in the Aviva Royal I portfolio, we placed primary emphasis on the companies' financial strength and stability. The very attractive price of these shares at the start of the policy was, of course, another important factor.”
