Netherlands: Delta Lloyd organises pension courses designed for pension professionals

Pension insurer Delta Lloyd organised knowledge exchange sessions for pension professionals once again this year.

Pension insurer Delta Lloyd organised knowledge exchange sessions for pension professionals once again this year. These pension courses are customised, geared as much as possible to the expertise of pension professionals. The four knowledge exchange sessions for approximately 200 colleagues were held at various locations across the Netherlands. The aim was to exchange knowledge on the latest items of interest in the pension sector.

Speakers René Boon (Boon Accountants) and Roos van der Velden (Akkermans & Partners) presented the latest news with respect to the Dutch National Budget, the Tax Plan 2010 and the Pensions Act (Pensioenwet). Roos van der Velden focused on a number of issues including the increase in the old-age pension age and the reduction in the partner allowance: “The government is looking at an old-age pension age of 67. The Dutch Socio-Economic Council may issue an opinion on this before 1 October, but is internally divided. In demographic terms, of course, an increase is entirely logical. Consequently the Government has linked the increase in the old-age pension age directly to retirement age for income tax. Adjustment therefore seems inevitable.”
