In August this year the value of assets controlled by the life insurance and pension fund Aviva Lithuania passed the half a billion litai mark. During the past year the assets controlled by the company have increased by 47% (as of 1 August 2008 they were worth 340 million litai), while over the past two years the assets controlled by the company have more than doubled (as of 1 August 2007 they were worth 225 million litai).
“Assets that grow annually are the result of the stable and consistent operations of our company”, said Aviva Lithuania general manager Asta Ungulaitienė. “At the moment all the funds managed by Aviva Lithuania are working profitably: pension funds have shown an 8–12% return from the start of the year and the life insurance funds have earned 6–11%. Our good client finance management results do not go unnoticed: over the past year (from August 2008 to August 2009) our life insurance clients have increased by 5,500 people, while those of our pension fund increased by 9,150. Overall, our company has signed 192,000 client insurance contracts.
"Our company has also become the most attractive to clients in the pension fund market, many of whom have changed companies to come to us. During the second quarter of 2009, there was a significantly larger drift of clients between companies than ever before. Of the 9,545 clients who swapped companies during the period mentioned, up to 25% (or 2,378 clients) came across to join Aviva Lithuania’s clients,” said Asta Ungulaitienė.
At the moment Aviva Lithuania occupies 16.6% of the life insurance market according to signed policies and 15.3% of the life insurance market according to the number of life insurance clients in the country.
