Australia: Aviva further enhances platform with Vanguard ETFs

Aviva Australia announced today the addition of Vanguard's new range of Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) to its platform.

Aviva Australia announced today the addition of Vanguard's new range of Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) to its platform.

The Vanguard Australian Shares Index ETF, US Total Market Shares ETF and the All-World ex-US Shares Index ETF is now available on both the Investment and Superannuation services on Aviva's platform.

Andrew Barker, general manager of wealth management product said that the move was in response to increasing demand for these types of products.

"We have seen good demand for the current ETFs on our platform, and the addition of Vanguard's new range of ETFs fits well with our strategy of giving advisers a choice of providers for each different investment type. We took a similar approach last year when we added a range of Term Deposit providers, again giving advisers greater choice."

Mr Barker also noted that the addition fits well with the launch of SMAs on the platform planned for later in the year.

"ETFs and SMAs are products that have found popularity overseas, but are yet to really take off in Australia due to a lack of integration with full function wrap platforms. Having both options integrated on the platform will provide advisers with easy access to these alternative investment structures."
