Yesterday about 100 Aviva Lithuania employees and financial consultants worked intensively cleaning the banks of the Neris River in Vilnius, near Konstitucijos prospektas. During a working bee of several hours, four tonnes of rubbish was picked up and six tonnes of leaves raked up. With this working bee the company began its "Aviva talka - žalia Lietuva" ("Aviva helps to keep Lithuania green") campaign. During this campaign, 15 more Lithuanian cities with Aviva branch offices will be cleaned up.
"Through this initiative we wanted to show our solidarity with the people of Lithuania and to offer our unpaid labour in these difficult times. It is wonderful that we can unite people in performing good deeds which they might not manage to do individually. Together we can make life more beautiful," said Asta Ungulaitienė, general manager of Aviva Lithuania.
Aviva Lithuania is among the market leaders for life insurance and pension funds in Lithuania. The company has a workforce of around 600, consisting of employees and financial consultants, who serve 190,000 life insurance and pension fund clients.
