From 9 March until 3 April 2009 customers will be able to invest their money in the latest structured product from Commercial Union - CU Guarantee New Horizons.
Since 2007 Commercial Union has offered structured products under the name CU Guarantee in the form of individual life and endowment insurance. These products protect the capital invested by the customer, and at the same time enable him to earn money on international financial markets.
This new product is tied to the index of actively managed assets, BNP Paribas New Frontier 8 Europe SR. It enables the customer to make a profit on international markets (shares, property bonds and raw materials) whilst being fully protected.
The agreement is for four years. The minimum investment is 10,000 zlotys. There is no handling or management fee. CU Życie guarantees a return of 100% of the capital paid in at the end of the insurance period. The payment at the end of this period is not subject to capital gains tax (the so-called "Belka tax"). The insurance element consists of the fact that, in the event of the death of the insured during the period of the agreement, the beneficiaries will receive 103% of the amount paid in. This payment is not subject to capital gains tax.
Another important criterion is the high participation rate - or rather the customer's percentage share in the profits acquired through investment in the index which serves as the base for the product. CU has set this rate at a level of 75-85% - the final amount will be established at the end of the sales period.
The product CU Guarantee New Horizons is, as before, offered by 3500 CU insurance agents as well as in four "Good Investment Centres" in Warsaw.
