The Wiesbaden-based financial services provider, Delta Lloyd, has developed a comprehensive advice package on the flat rate withholding tax, which its brokers can use to help familiarise their clients with this complex subject, simply and clearly.
The central pillar of the package is its sales helper. This is a consultation document which the broker can go through with the client, step by step. First of all, there is a brief explanation of what the flat rate withholding tax is all about and what effect it has on which financial investments. Then, depending on the client investment focus, the adviser can choose from four categories, distinguishing between one-off and regular monetary investments, pension schemes using single premiums and regular contributions. Each category includes a clear explanation as to what sort of effect the withholding tax will have on each kind of investment behaviour. At the end, the client receives advice and a personal stock-take.
Individual stock-take
For this stock-take, the package includes a structured data sheet, which is used to create a clear illustration of the personal asset and pension situation of the client and identify any action that needs to be taken. The recommendations table also included in the package can then be used to determine the best products for the client to use for asset investment or for the optimum focus of their pension plan, on the basis of these results.
A CD with the tried and tested Delta Lloyd withholding tax calculator, product flyers on particularly suitable products and answers to the most frequently asked questions on the withholding tax complete the package. The package also includes a pre-prepared letter to invite the clients to a consultancy session and a flyer with the most important information on the withholding tax.
