The IEX Lipper Awards were presented on 12 February 2008 in the Okura Hotel in Amsterdam. Lipper (part of the Reuters news agency) assesses and compares the performance of as many as 130,000 investment funds each year. The Lipper Awards go to asset managers who have achieved consistently strong investment results - adjusted for risk - compared to similar funds.
Delta Lloyd Asset Management scooped an award for the OHRA Milieutechnologie Fonds in the 'Equity Small and Mid Caps' category based on the performance of the fund over the last three years. The fund invests globally in shares of companies offering commercially attractive solutions that can contribute to an ecologically sustainable society. For example, recycling, water treatment and solar, hydroelectric and wind power.
In the past year, producers of new energy technology, such as solar cells and wind turbines, in particular have made a positive contribution to the return. Fund Manager Ad Schellen is delighted with the award. "For us this award confirms that green technologies not only have a future, but can also deliver an attractive return".
