As managing director, Fernando Ramos will lead Caja Granada Vida - which is owned by Caja Granada and Unicorp Vida, and managed by Aviva - into a new phase as a life insurance company and pension fund manager.
- After three decades with Caja Granada, Ramos replaces Verónica Huete in this new phase.
As managing director, Fernando Ramos will lead Caja Granada Vida - which is owned by Caja Granada and Unicorp Vida, and managed by Aviva - into a new phase as a life insurance company and pension fund manager. Caja Granada Vida will have the whole range of life insurance policies and plans from Caja Granada, which will distribute the products through its 480-branch network.
In May 2007, the conversion of General Vida into an insurance company was approved, along with a change of name to Caja Granada Vida. Last November, it obtained authorisation from Spain's Directorate General of Insurance to operate as an insurer.
Under Verónica Huete, the former director of General Vida who is now deputy general manager of media for Caja Granada, the results and brand image of the company were strengthened. Now, as Fernando Ramos takes the reins, his enthusiasm is clear as he discusses his plans: "For me, joining the Aviva Group after 30 years with Caja Granada is a great professional and personal challenge that I'm really excited about. I'm certain that my experience and knowledge of the network of branches, its management structure and the business model will enable us to achieve our business objectives and take this successful model forward."
Discussing the basic goals that he has set himself, Fernando Ramos affirms that "the basic aims in my management will be to achieve the business plan, maximise the results, establish the client as the axis on which the activity of the company should pivot, guarantee total quality in internal processes, communication and information systems and, above all, people, building team spirit, enhancing the working atmosphere and promoting appropriate professional development".
