Delta Lloyd Group has set up the Delta Lloyd Group Foundation, chairman of the executive board of Delta Lloyd Group, Niek Hoek, reports in his New Year message to all staff. The purpose of the Delta Lloyd Group Foundation is to promote the financial independence of socially vulnerable groups in society. Some €2 million has been donated initially until the end of 2008.
The Delta Lloyd Group Foundation is being set up to round off the anniversary year of 2007, in which Delta Lloyd Group celebrated its 200th anniversary. In his New Year message, Niek Hoek says that he not only wants to make the company's customers' futures more secure, but also to encourage economically and socially vulnerable groups to improve their own financial situation. The official launch of the Delta Lloyd Group Foundation is scheduled for the end of January.
Chairman of the executive board, Niek Hoek, also looks back at a strong year for Delta Lloyd Group. Thanks to the conclusion of some major contracts, gross premium income increased by more than €1 billion to over €7 billion. Good progress was also made in setting up product groups for sharing back office, claims handling and product development.
