Spain: Aseval launches ethical pension plan campaign

Based on the message "What's a sandwich toaster for? In Africa, nothing", Aseval has launched its 2007 pension plan campaign which, for the third consecutive year, reflects its commitment to corporate social responsibility.

Based on the message "What's a sandwich toaster for?  In Africa, nothing", Aseval has launched its 2007 pension plan campaign which, for the third consecutive year, reflects its commitment to corporate social responsibility. The plans offer two attractive gifts:

  • One for thousands of children: When Bancaja customers take out a new pension plan or pay into and existing plan, they will contribute, at no cost to themselves, to a UNICEF child vaccination programme.
  • And for the customers themselves: From 1 October to 31 December 2007, customers will receive a cash gift.
    • For an extraordinary payment of €1,000 or more, Aseval will pay a bonus equal to 1.5% of the customer's payment into the pension plan.
    • Customers that transfer their plans from other managers will receive a bonus equal to 2.5% of the amount transferred for sums of between €9,000 and €24,999, and 4% for amounts of €25,000 or more.

On 31 January 2008, Aseval will calculate the total payments and transfers carried out by 31 December 2007 and will pay the cash bonuses in the first half of February 2008. These bonuses will be subject to current tax legislation and are capped at a maximum net annual payment of €3,000 per customer.

It is almost 10 years since Aseval marketed the first pension plan through its financial network, Bancaja.

Over the years, having a comprehensive offering - with seven pension plans, ranging from the most conservative to the most risky, complemented by free loyalty plans and innovative promotions - has secured the company leadership positions.

However, in late 2005, Aseval decided to offer its customers a new added value. It was certain that its customers would be happy to support a UNICEF child vaccination programme with their savings, at no cost to themselves. And in just two years, more than 230,000 children have been vaccinated in high-risk areas.
