UK: Norwich Union launches 38 new pension investment funds

• Addition of 38 new funds available through pension products
• Funds now available from six new external managers
• Pilot of rapid fund launch capability for investment funds.

Norwich Union, the UK's largest insurer, is piloting a rapid fund launch capability to introduce an additional 38 new investment funds for new and existing pension customers.  

The new fund launch programme, to be introduced on 29 October, will increase the frequency that Norwich Union adds investment funds to its pension range, providing advisers with more investment fund choice for their clients.

As part of the fund launch external investment funds will, for the first time, be available from; Aegon, Artemis, Baillie Gifford, Invesco Perpetual, M&G and New Star. 

Iain Oliver, head of pensions at Norwich Union, said: "The ability to add more high quality funds to our pension products on a regular basis is key development. The launch of 38 new funds, using the pilot of our new capability is the first step in offering an increasingly wide choice of funds. 

"We have been in extensive dialogue with advisers and the new fund launch capability provides a fast and flexible way to introduce a rapidly evolving fund choice. We will be introducing funds on an ongoing basis to give advisers a great choice to match their clients' needs.
