Romania: Summer school for Aviva’s marketing agents

Aviva is pleased that the uncertainties surrounding the start date for private pensions (Pillar II) were, in the end, removed and the CSSPP announced, officially, the day on which Romanians will be able to sign up for private pension funds - 17 September.

Aviva is pleased that the uncertainties surrounding the start date for private pensions (Pillar II) were, in the end, removed and the CSSPP announced, officially, the day on which Romanians will be able to sign up for private pension funds - 17 September.

The fact that the CSSPP has set a date for the start of the application gathering period for private pension funds is good news for administrators, to whom it has given a deadline by which time they must be prepared. At the same time, it is good news for Romanians, because, as recent surveys carried out have shown, they need a viable pensions system, which can ensure that they have a decent income in retirement. The choice of a mandatory pension fund is an important decision for the future of any Romanian, and our wish is for all potential customers to be informed about the options that they have and to make a conscious decision.

"The fact that the authorities have chosen the exact day on which the school year starts again as the start date for the application period is a happy coincidence because Aviva has invested, and continues to invest, considerable sums of money in the education provided to its marketing agents. Aviva has already exceeded its target of having a total of 20,000 marketing agents who have already successfully completed professional qualification courses and are trained for the launch of privately administered pensions. The principal objective, that of having the best trained marketing agents in the market, who can provide professional, high-quality services, has also been achieved." stated Shah Rouf, CEO Aviva Life Insurance.

"We have now set ourselves a new target - to surpass the figure of 30,000 marketing agents by 17 September. The Aviva group's international experience has shown us that a large number of marketing agents affords you the possibility of reaching a larger number of potential customers; but what makes the difference is the quality of your sales team and implicit in that, the quality of your after-sales operations services." added Shah Rouf.

"In 2006, the Aviva group underwrote more new life insurance policies and long-term savings plans than any other insurance company in Europe. Ultimately, this is a vote of confidence from our customers, and this confidence owes itself, first and foremost, to the quality of our services and the products that we offer. Aviva Romania benefits from the potential financial support of €100 million from the our head office in London, as well as from the group's expertise and international experience, gained on markets all over Europe, where Aviva is the market leader for privately administered pensions." concluded Shah.
