Australia: Aviva cuts fees as super growth kicks in

Aviva’s innovative Navigator platform is cutting fees by up to 50% as it moves to price at a customer level, not an account level.

According to Allan Griffiths, Aviva’s chief executive officer, customers can now link all their funds in the Navigator Personal Retirement Plan or Navigator Personal Investment Plan – whether they are super or non-super, and cut down on paperwork and fees where the total investment is greater than A$300,000.

Investors can link up to four accounts between any immediate family members, their companies, trusts, and even members of a self managed superannuation fund.

"This includes families who may have a number of accounts. Now spouses and other family members can link accounts together and all access substantial fee savings," said Allan.

The changes mean that if a customer refers family members their family will get a discount and the customer’s own fees will fall too.

"At Aviva we recognise that an individual may have several accounts with us – investments, super, their partner’s super or maybe a self-managed super fund,” said Allan.

Traditionally wraps have priced each account separately.  Navigator’s market leading n-link technology* enables advisers to link clients’ accounts together online.

"This means that at Navigator we can take a customer focused approach and look at our clients’ assets in total,” comments Allan.  “We can now put this flexibility in the hands of advisers so that they can get the best results for their clients."

"The super industry is booming, as is the Navigator platform.  We’re taking a lead and giving something back to encourage customers to invest,” said Allan.

Customers interested in taking advantage of these discounts should contact their financial adviser.
