Norwich Union is launching a website designed to help people make sense of investments.

Aimed at consumers who want to learn more about managing money, the "Make Sense of It" site helps consumers understand the basics of investing and highlights the benefits of taking professional advice.

The site includes:

  • Scenarios – consumers can read about others in a similar situation.
  • Calculator tools – to help users get to grips with their finances and plan for the future.
  • My page – gives customers the option of saving favourite articles, scenarios and results from calculator tools.
  • Jargon buster – explains complex industry terminology in plain English.

Simon Quick, director of marketing at Norwich Union, said: “The ‘Make Sense of It’ website is designed to make life easier for customers who want to learn more about investments. Our research shows that many consumers are confused by the range of options.

“They understand that they need to take action but are afraid of making the wrong decision; that’s why there is increasing demand for information that is simple to understand. Customers are wary of making important decisions themselves and unsure where to go for advice. The site includes a ‘Find an Adviser’ tool that gives users the opportunity to find a local financial adviser.

“We’ll be adding further product areas such as pensions, annuities, protection, equity release and healthcare to the site over the coming months.”

Customers and advisers should log on to: www.norwichunion.com/investments
