Aviva Romania is supporting young gymnasts through its sponsorship of one of the country's top gymnastic awards, The Pelendava Cup.

The contest, held on 2-3 June, pitted 100 of Romania's future gymnastic champions against each other.

It forms part of the eight-17-year-old children's extra-curricular activities, with the aim of promoting healthy children whose mental development is matched by their physical well-being.

"By supporting the Pelandava Cup, we are supporting the growth of young talent and building upon our 2001 National Gymnasts Championship sponsorship," said Carl Boehr, president and CEO, Aviva Romania.

"We are helping skilled gymnasts make the most of life. Helping people make the most of life is what Aviva does through its products, its services and through sponsoring local community events. Our life insurance and pension products deliver secure financial futures to our clients and our support of the Pelendava Cup equally aims to secure the growth of gymnasts' sporting futures."

Contest organiser Alina Mălăiescu-Udrea added: "We were very glad to receive Aviva's support in organising this contest. We appreciated the commitment and the responsiveness Aviva showed in encouraging young talent as well as its support in awarding these talented people."
