Morley Fund Management, one of Europe’s largest fund managers, has appointed Tim Barker as head of credit analysis.
Morley Fund Management, one of Europe’s largest fund managers, has appointed Tim Barker as head of credit analysis. Tim joins Morley on 1 August 2005 and will report to Paul Mingay, head of credit in the fixed income team.
Tim brings to Morley more than 13 years of experience in credit analysis at both investment banking and asset management firms. He joins Morley from Lazard Asset Management where he was a senior credit analyst and strategist.
Tim began his career as a credit analyst at Nat West Markets, before moving to the buy side with spells as a credit analyst with SLC Asset Management and Schroder Investment Management. He then returned to investment banking with Deutsche Bank where he was responsible for credit strategy, before joining Lazard.
Tim will manage Morley’s team of credit analysts who provide the research and investment recommendations to fund managers across all sectors in the UK and Europe.
Commenting on the appointment, Morley Fund Management’s head of credit, Paul Mingay, said: "We are delighted to have Tim’s quality and breadth of expertise – his excellent combination of both buy and sell side experience will be extremely valuable to us."
Morley also recently appointed Jay Contis as a credit analyst in the Boston office covering US banks, financials and insurers. From the 20 June, Jay will be working in Morley’s London office for a temporary period. Previously, Jay was an analyst in high grade corporate fixed income for State Street Research & Management.
Morley’s Credit Team manages more than Ł20 billion in corporate bonds while the Fixed Income Team manages more than Ł65 billion in total funds under management (as at 31.5.2005).
