Morley Fund Management, one of the UK’s largest fund managers, has made two appointments to its global equities team. Both John Wilson and Nicole Mardell have joined Morley as global equity analysts.
John brings 18 years of investment experience and joins Morley from HSBC Asset Management in Tokyo where he was a senior fund manager. Nicole Mardell brings five years investment experience and joins Morley from First State Investments in London where she was a global equities analyst.
Both will be responsible for equity research focussing on specific companies as determined by the team’s investment themes. At present our global equity funds concentrate on four themes, namely: competitive advantage, restructuring, misallocation of capital and redistribution of wealth.
Michael Jennings, Head of the Global Equity Team, said: "Unconstrained by geographical restrictions, our global equity funds do not buy companies because they are listed on a certain market or in a certain sector, but because we believe there are fundamental reasons why they will outperform. John and Nicole will greatly enhance our research capability to identify these fundamental characteristics and add further depth to our thematic discipline."
