On the Auspicious occasion of Baisakhi, Aviva Life Insurance and Punjab & Sind Bank (PSB) have initiated a national scholarship program exclusively for the Aviva policyholders who are customers of Punjab & Sind Bank.
The program aptly named Aviva Shining star scholarship recognizes the talent of school children and rewards them by making them “Shining Stars”. This program involves school children drawing “What do I want to be when I grow up” and submitting the drawing in any of the PSB branches nation wide. The drawings will be judged and winners will be chosen nationally and regionally at the end of the program period.
The Aviva India Shining Star wins a national scholarship of Rs 1 lakh. 16 others will win regional Aviva Zonal Shining Stars scholarships of Rs 20, 000 each.
This program started off in Ludhiana in the first week of April where three shining stars were identified from local schools. Encouraged by the response of the program, Aviva & PSB will now progress across the length and breadth of the country to identify national and regional shining stars within school children.
Speaking on the occasion of the launch of the Aviva Shining Star Scholarship, Mr Stuart Purdy, managing director, Aviva Life Insurance India, said: “As a financial services company, we are focused on looking at different needs of our customers, according to various stages of their life. Planning for a child’s future is one key focus area. We are launching the Aviva Shining Star scholarship specifically for the customers of our Bancassurance partner, Punjab & Sind Bank. The scholarship aims to create Aviva Shining Stars who will receive a scholarship of Rs 1 lakh to help the child further his/her dream.”
Mr P Subbarao, executive director, Punjab & Sind Bank, said: “Both Aviva and Punjab & Sind Bank have built a strong relationship since the tie up in September.
