Two matching programs boost employee donations

Aviva Canada employees are actively contributing to emergency relief and recovery efforts underway in Southeast Asia – and, thanks to two separate matching programs – one devised by Aviva Canada and one recently announced by the Canadian Government – each individual’s generous gift may be as much as tripled.

By leveraging these two matching programs, Aviva employees could potentially drive a collective donation approaching $150,000.

Aviva Canada will match the first $50,000 donated by its employees to tsunami relief funds, through a corporate gift to Care Canada.

In addition, the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) recently announced it will match, dollar for dollar, individual donations directed to established charities dedicating resources to Tsunami Relief, including Care Canada.

“This enormity of this catastrophe has touched us all,” says Aviva Canada Inc president & CEO Igal Mayer. “It is our privilege to mirror the passion and giving spirit of our employees by matching their donations to emergency relief, and to helping affected communities rebuild.

“Thanks to our matching program, and that of the CIDA, our employees’ personal gifts, no matter what amount, will make a significant difference to people in great need.”

Aviva Canada is one of the country's largest property & casualty insurance groups, with more than 3,000 employees and more than 2.2 million policies. Aviva invests in its communities at the local and national level, supporting organizations including the United Way of Canada, The Scarborough General Hospital Foundation and the Stratford Festival.
