On 7 October, Delta Lloyd Properties and the Borough of Diemen signed a collaboration agreement on the Diemerplein shopping centre. The agreement includes redevelopment and expansion of the shopping centre and the refurbishment of its immediate surroundings.
Details of the plan
The shopping centre is being expanded with a floor area of 7,900m˛ and a covered car park with 400 spaces is being built. 46 flats are being constructed above the new part of the shopping centre. A new park, the Cassin Park, is being laid out in the vicinity. In addition Van Markenplatsoen and Wilhelminaplantsoen are being refurbished.
Planning
Construction is planned to begin in the latter part of 2005. The total construction time will be less than three years and the whole of the redeveloped shopping centre will be ready in 2008.
