Asta Ungulaitienë has taken over the position of general manager of Commercial Union Lithuania, a life insurance company, succeeding Stephen Marini.
Asta Ungulaitienë has taken over the position of general manager of Commercial Union Lithuania, a life insurance company, succeeding Stephen Marini.
Until recently, Asta Ungulaitienë was deputy finance minister of the Republic of Lithuania. Jaroslaw Myjak, chairman of the supervisory board of CU Lithuania and Aviva country chief executive for Poland, said the changes reflected the policy of CU Lithuania’s parent company Aviva in which key positions in Lithuania have to be held by the citizens of the country.
“I am delighted that CU Lithuania will be headed by Asta Ungulaitienë. We greatly value the experience she accumulated whilst working in the position of deputy finance minister, especially in the field of developing the financial services market and integration with the European Union. This will be very important in the coming months as Lithuania’s EU integration will have far reaching effects into the conduct of long-term savings business in which CU Lithuania specialises. The Aviva group as well as CU Lithuania Supervisory Board will provide her with full support in the new role”, said Mr Myjak.
Her predecessor, Stephen Marini, was CU Lithuania’s general manager since November 2001, when the company launched operations. Mr Myjak thanked him for his great input while establishing the company and placing the cornerstones for its success. “Under Stephen’s leadership a solid basis for the development of the company was established and this will allow CU Lithuania to continue its expansion in the rapidly developing Lithuanian life and long-term savings market. The results of his activity are already evident: CU Lietuva took a strong position amongst the country’s leading life insurance companies," underlined Mr Myjak. Mr Marini has moved to Italy where he will continue to work for the Aviva group.
