Poland: New VIP house and accident insurance

Commercial Union Poland has extended its house and accident insurance offer by introducing policies for clients with special requirements and expectations who are frequently referred to as VIPs.

Commercial Union Poland has extended its house and accident insurance offer by introducing policies for clients with special requirements and expectations who are frequently referred to as VIPs. The new house insurance is called Home Residence, while the name of the accident insurance is Sensible Partner Prestige.

The Home Residence house and flat insurance guarantees a very wide protection range. In its standard version it includes home assistance and medical assistance service packages. This new policy complements the house insurance policies already on offer by the company such as My House (the standard policy) and Home Apartment (for clients interested in a wider range of protection).

"In our opinion, Home Residence insurance gives the widest range of protection of all house insurance policies offered on the Polish market," said Ryszard Bociong, chief executive of CU Poland's general insurance company.

The new Sensible Partner Prestige accident insurance meets the expectations of well-to-do clients who are interested in wide range insurance cover involving large amounts of money.

"Under this policy, the insurance amount can be as much as a million zlotys," said Mr Bociong. Like Home Residence insurance, Sensible Partner Prestige allows the client to take advantage of the medical assistance package. The VIP accident policy which has been introduced complements the one offered so far in this range that includes two versions of the individual policy (Sensible Partner 1 and Sensible Partner 2) and a group policy – the Team.

"Now we have a complete offer for various groups of individual clients. Our sales results up till now confirm our conviction that our decision to offer products for households was right. Individual insurance makes a significant contribution to the dynamic rise of our company's premiums, amounting to a 27% gross and 65% net rise in the first half of 2002," emphasised Mr Bociong. The main part in insurance sales to individual clients is played by insurance agents collaborating with CU Poland’s distribution company and in second place are the insurance brokers.

  • Commercial Union Poland –General Insurance Company, which has been operating on a wider scale since 1997, offers house and accident insurance for individual clients. The company also offers commercial lines insurance with fire and loss of income insurance, technical insurance, transport property and civil liability insurance among the most important. In 2001 CU General collected 49.6 million zlotys gross premiums which generated 4.6 million zlotys net profit. In the first half of 2002, gross premiums amounted to 34.5 million zlotys and net profit reached 2.7 million zlotys.
