CGNU is pleased to announce its inclusion in the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index (DJSI World), which is the world’s first global index tracking the performance of the leading sustainability-driven companies worldwide.

The annual review of the DJSI World is based on a comprehensive assessment of the 2,500 largest companies in the Dow Jones Global Index. It rates a company’s economic, environmental and social performance according to 30 criteria. The DJSI World includes 312 companies from 62 industries in 26 countries.

Anthony Sampson, Director of Environmental Management at CGNU, said: "Inclusion in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index is one of the few measures of success in the sphere of environmental performance. This achievement – together with our 1st place in the financial services sector in the Business in the Environment Index – is confirmation that, although we know that we still have a long way to go, others recognise the progress we have made."

CGNU is also included in the recently launched FTSE4Good Indices, which also look to include socially responsible companies, from around the world in its indices. The Group is included in both the UK and Global Indexes.
