Hibernian Life & Pensions has introduced a new savings product, Spectrum Special Saver, in response to the Government's new savings scheme that is available from 1 May 2001.

The product has a simple charging structure and no front-end charges.
The new savings product offers investors a full choice of investment fund options - from cash funds to Latin American equities. The minimum monthly investment is Ł10.00 and the maximum investment is Ł200 per month. 100% of all premiums will be invested, including the Government's 25% contribution.

According to Ian Veitch, Marketing & Product Development Director, Hibernian Life & Pensions: "We believe that this product is a 'must buy' for anyone who can afford to invest part of their income each month. The 25% contribution each month from the Government is a major incentive and also, at the end of the five year term, tax at 23% is payable only on the investment gain. For real returns a value for money life insurance product is the only solution and will prove more valuable to an investor than a low performing bank deposit."

"We are delighted to introduce a product with no entry charges - all the money is invested from day one. We challenge the other life companies to follow suit and to ensure that the public can put their faith in our products." Hibernian's new product compares very favourably with those already introduced in the market place.
