What does our Public Affairs team do?
Aviva's Public Affairs team works with politicians, government officials and other decision-makers.
We share Aviva's expertise and contribute to discussions about legislation, regulations and public policy that affect our customers, communities and business.
Aviva engages with public affairs stakeholders across government, Parliament, local authorities and the civil service. We have ideas and potential solutions to major societal challenges, from infrastructure and health and social care to flood prevention and achieving net zero.

How do we support policy discussions?
Aviva contributes to political and policy discussions on issues that affect our business, customers and communities in the UK. Our Public Affairs team brings expertise from across insurance, pensions and investment.
The team supports engagement with politicians, policymakers and public officials through:
- sharing policy briefings and expertise from across Aviva
- providing constituency-level information and local insights
- hosting site visits to help stakeholders understand Aviva’s work in practice
- supporting on issues raised by constituents, where appropriate

How do we engage transparently with policymakers?
Aviva aims to be transparent and act with integrity when engaging with policymakers, including elected representatives, government officials and public affairs stakeholders. Our Public Affairs team works across the political spectrum.
We also work with industry bodies to support sector-wide engagement and contribute to discussions about the wider insurance and financial services landscape.
- As a member of the Public Relations and Communications Association (PRCA), we follow its professional standards and Code of Conduct.
- We're listed on the Scottish Lobbying Register for relevant engagement with the Scottish Parliament and Scottish Government.
