India: Launching 'Aviva Young Scholar Schoolex 09-10', enabling parents to make informed choices

As per a recent survey conducted by Aviva India, 67% of parents in India prioritise saving for their children’s education over retirement or protection. Recognizing the parent’s belief that "Education is Insurance" for their children’s future therefore, Aviva has have tied up with Edubition.com to launch "Aviva Young Scholar Schoolex 2009-10", the first ever school admission event in India. The key objective behind this initiative is to bring parents and schools under one roof and make it easier for parents to evaluate different schools including on the spot admission, interacting with teachers and attending relevant workshops.

"Aviva Young Scholar Schoolex" will take place at Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi. Mumbai & NCR during the course of the year. Parents need to log on to www.schoolex.in and register to attend the events. The first in the series of events is the one in Gurgaon on 5-6 September 2009 at Epicenter, Apparel House, Institutional Area, Sector 44, Gurgaon. Close to 50 schools will be participating at the Gurgaon event.

Speaking on the occasion, Vishal Gupta, director marketing, Aviva India, said: “At Aviva, we recognize that Education is Insurance and as a brand therefore, we help parents remove financial constraints in providing the best education for their children. More than 42 million urban parents seek admission for their children every year and as per our recent survey 77% of urban parents are concerned about the rising cost of education. Through Schoolex we seek to enable parents to make informed choices regarding their child’s education as also help them realize the need to plan early, for financing their child’s future education.”

He added: “To address the concern of the rising cost of education, we have the best-in-class insurance product ‘Aviva Young Scholar’ to help parents build a corpus for their children’s education. We are also providing scholarships to meritorious students in association with National Geographic. For the less privileged, we recently launched ‘Aviva Street to School’, a Corporate Responsibility programme.”

The entry to “Aviva Young Scholar Schoolex” will be free of cost. The parents simply need to register online to receive an invite. A workshop will also be organized for parents to help them understand different curriculums like CBSE, ICSE and the IB, and make an informed choice for their children’s future.
