If one pint of blood can save up to three lives, then the 113 donors during CIMB Aviva’s recent blood donation drive will be pleased to know that their noble effort will save at least 255 lives. A joint collaboration with the National Blood Centre, the drive attracted not only CIMB Aviva employees but also its business partners, vendors and even the general public who heard about the drive when they walked into the CIMB Aviva’s building to perform their banking and insurance transactions.
“What we want to communicate to our employees and the general public through this blood donation drive is the important message of “Blood cannot be manufactured. It can only come as a gift from people”. This gift does not cost money and it takes less than an hour of your time,” said Kevin Jones, CEO of CIMB Aviva.
“At the same time, the drive is also one of the many health activities organised during our 'Health is Wealth' month for the benefit of our employees as they get to have their heart rate, haemoglobin and blood pressure checked for free during the blood donation. Besides, donating blood forces your body to replace the lost blood with fresh new cells which is a good thing,” added Kevin.
Donors who participated in the event were given goody packs that included CIMB Aviva pens, notepads and certificate of participation.
