Create a plan to embed CSR at all stages of the sourcing process

CSR has been embedded as mandatory at four stages of the sourcing process:

  • identification
  • market analysis
  • sourcing (with a minimum 10% weighting given to CSR issues)
  • supplier relationship management.
Develop communication and reporting processes, such as supplier CSR evaluation reports The procurement team’s awareness of CSR issues has been raised through quarterly ‘Lunch and Learn’ sessions, learning weeks and a dedicated CSR section on our purchasing website.
Initiate an annual review of key CSR risks and priorities from a sourcing perspective Purchasing now has a specific risk control measure reflecting protection of the Aviva reputation and CSR.
Measure and report how we are performing in the area of human rights There were no breeches in this area. Human rights questions are now a part of our supplier review and tender process.
