Appointed to the board of Aviva plc in December 2007.
Currently strategic advisor to Best Buy Co, Inc, the specialty consumer electronics retailer, where he was previously chief executive officer of Best Buy Europe (retail services). Former director of The Boots Company plc (pharmacy) (now known as the Boots Company Limited) and managing director and retail director of Boots the Chemist at Alliance Boots plc. Formerly held a number of senior executive positions at Tesco plc (retail services), including stores director, change director, operations director and chief executive officer of Tesco in Japan.
Mr Wheway brings to the board a wealth of retail experience, where he has championed first- rate customer service, in addition to a deep knowledge of multinational retail operations and a passion for customer focus.
