We have two main businesses in the UK – Aviva UK Life (formerly Norwich Union Life) and Aviva UK Insurance (formerly Norwich Union Insurance). We also have a number of smaller operations, including RAC.
UK Life
We’re the largest provider of life, pensions and long-term financial services in the UK, with a market share of around 10.8% in the first half of 2009.
We have nearly seven million customers, producing about 39% of Aviva’s worldwide long-term savings business, and we employ more than 9,000 people. Our customers come to us through a range of channels – face-to-face, over the phone, online and through distribution partners including The Royal Bank of Scotland.
UK Insurance
We’re the leading general insurer in the UK, with a market share of about 13%. We sell our products through brokers, partners (such as banks and building societies) and directly to our customers.
Our headquarters are in Norwich and we operate in more than 40 locations across the UK. We are making excellent progress in our transformation programme, including the consolidation of our business into nine modern insurance "centres of excellence".
RAC
RAC has been part of Aviva since 2005. We have around seven million members and are committed to providing the very highest levels of service to our customers.
We are one of the UK's most progressive motoring organisations. Since 1897, RAC has been at the forefront of developments in motoring services, from introducing uniformed patrols in 1901 and roadside emergency telephone boxes in 1912 to the present day as we use the world's most advanced computer systems to deal with calls for roadside assistance.

Bluecycle is an award-winning online marketplace, set up in 2000 for the buying and selling of business assets, particularly auto salvage. To date, Bluecycle has sold more than 450,000 vehicles and achieved over £400 million in sales.
