Supporting the Living Wage
As part of our commitment to challenging our sector to do better and work in everyone's best interests, we are proud supporters of the real Living Wage in the UK.
Aviva has paid the London Living Wage since just after its launch in 2005 and became a Principle Partner of the Living Wage Foundation in 2012.
Today, everyone on an Aviva site throughout the UK, regardless of whether they are permanent employees or third-party contractors or suppliers, receive the real Living Wage.
This rate is independently calculated annually by the Resolution Foundation and overseen by the Living Wage Commission, and reflects the true cost of living in the UK - helping people support both themselves and their families.
In 2016 Aviva Group’s Stuart Wright, Group Property and Facilities Director at Aviva, was appointed Chair of the Living Wage Foundation Advisory Council. We’re proud of the role we play in ensuring our industry works for everyone.
Stuart Wright said: “We made the commitment to pay the real living wage because it’s the right thing to do, and because it’s also good business. We want to be a great place to work – an employer of choice. By paying a fair wage we will attract and keep the best people, helping to protect the long-term success of our business. What’s more, paying the real living wage has an important impact on people’s quality of life.
