  Progress against objectives
  As a region we have begun to implement elements of the Aviva Group People Strategy and are supplementing these with a number of initiatives across our businesses at a local level.
  Human Resource Directors from each business unit meet with the regional HR team on a quarterly basis to discuss the development and implementation of the European HR Strategy. These meetings form an integral part of our strategy and maintains our focus on the key people issues for the region.
