| Minimise waste | Removing the skip at St Helen’s has reduced our non-recycling waste disposal by 49.2%. Also at St Helen’s, reusable furniture that was unwanted as a result of the café refurbishment was donated to charity. Duplex (double-sided) printing is now standard on all printers at St Helen’s, thus reducing paper consumption and waste. Unwanted stationery can be returned to a central store for others to use, creating financial as well as environmental benefits. |
| Reduce employee travel | A review of all tele- and video-conference facilities is underway with the objective of creating an online guide which will reduce the need to travel. Implementation is intended in 2008. We have also adopted a taxi policy which will help us to reduce travel by car. |
