Key achievements in 2006

Our most successful community initiative was our partnership with Habitat for Humanity. We gathered over 100 employees from around the group to participate in Habitat for Humanity’s blitz build initiative. We exceeded our own expectations by completing four houses for underprivileged families in five days. 

By introducing our new regional sponsorship application process we were able to sponsor community initiatives in key urban centres of Romania such as the Aviva Pelendava Gymnastics Cup, Aviva Olympics for Kids, Cluj Symphonic Music Festival and International Children’s day.

We also made donations to a charity foundation as part of our Christmas gift to employees.

To improve our relationship with our customers we redeveloped our call centre to focus on improved responsiveness to customer queries.

We completed a customer satisfaction and advocacy survey achieving a 65% net promoter score.

To reinforce our company values to employees, each staff meeting had a core theme. For example, September’s staff meeting focused on teamwork.

We implemented our new performance management programme for employees and began the process of issuing individual personal development plans.

We have also offered three part-time positions to students and currently have a student internship in progress.

We now offer female employees four months' maternity leave with full pay which is above the legal requirement in Romania.

We incorporated CSR into our broadened local purchasing policy to ensure that we select suppliers who act with integrity and responsibility.

To help reduce our impact on the environment we now purchase company cars compliant with the EURO 4 standard.
