Business Overview

Aviva Asia is a leading provider of life insurance and investments products, with businesses in Singapore, Hong Kong and China. Aviva has been in operation in Asia since the 1870s.

In Singapore we are ranked 2nd in the life insurance market based on total market share. This is due to our strong bancassurance partnership with one of the largest banks in Singapore, DBS Bank. We are also the market leader for Group products, with 1 in every 3 insured employees in Singapore being insured by Aviva.

In China, Aviva-Cofco now operates in 5 provinces and 14 city branches. We aim to have a 10% market share in 10 key markets by 2010 using our 10x10x10 strategy. We have already achieved 10% share in the Sichuan market. This particular joint venture is now ranked 4th out of all foreign insurers.

Managing CSR in our business

The Director of Brand and Communications of Aviva Asia regional office is our CSR-nominated manager. He or she works with all related parties across each business unit, including representatives from HR, Audit, Finance, and the Communications departments.

Senior management supports CSR by providing counsel and approving budget support to the respective stakeholders on proposed CSR initiatives. Currently, all employees engaged in the CSR programme do not formally meet to discuss initiatives but work through direct meetings, telephone and e-mail.
