Business Overview

Hibernian is the largest composite insurance group in Ireland, operating in 28 locations around the country. Our general insurance business is the market leader with 19.4% market share, while our life & pensions operation is ranked 3rd with 16.7% market share. Towards the end of 2005 we announced a significant life & pensions joint venture with AIB, Ireland’s largest bank, which has been implemented in 2006. We had a total staff complement of 2,080 at the end of 2006.  

Managing CSR in our business

Our CSR-nominated manager is Derek Hall, Company Secretary. Various executives are responsible for individual Aviva Group policies and we report on implementation/embedding on a quarterly basis to Aviva head office. Committees and teams are formed on an as required basis to deal with specific initiatives, particularly in the area of community programmes.
