Business Overview

Commercial Union (CU) Poland, based in Warsaw, has been operating since 1992. CU group is among Poland’s largest financial groups with over three million customers. We have six business units employing 800 people. We are ranked first in both Pensions (26.6% market share) and individual Life (11.5% share) and 4th in asset management (9.1% market share).

Our main distribution channel for our group services is the direct sales force (DSF). DSF is made up of around 2,900 tied insurance agents whose work is co-coordinated by a network of CU sales offices run by sales managers throughout the country.

We also co-operate with independent insurance agencies, brokers and partner banks, in particular with our minority shareholder, Bank Zachodni WBK, the Polish subsidiary of Allied Irish Bank.

CU group is headed by Zbigniew Andrzejewski, Chief Executive and sponsor of the CSR programme in Poland.

Managing CSR in our business

Our CSR-nominated manager Andrzej Gładysz, Group Corporate Secretary, is responsible for co-ordinating the CSR programme. We established a CSR committee in 2006. The committee is responsible for the implementation of our CSR programme. Its members include representatives from Public Relations; Human Resources; Office Manager, Security and Customer Service.

CU Poland’s CEO is the executive sponsor of the committee, fully supporting its actions.
