Business Overview

Aviva Hayat ve Emeklilik (Aviva HE) was founded in 1991 as a life and pensions business. Our products are aimed at high-net-worth customers and leading national and multinational corporations. In October 2006, Carl Boehr was appointed as the CEO of Aviva Turkey.

Aviva HE has 36 branches in 23 cities. In 2006 we added nine new branches to our network and will continue our expansion plans throughout 2007. As of December 2006 we have 1,499 employees of whom 1,013 are financial advisors – Direct Sales Force (DSF). 95% of our total business comes through the DSF, who are all university graduates.

Aviva HE has the largest DSF organisation in the life and pensions market. We have the most established sales support departments including training, recruitment and compliance. We are also the only company in our industry with an in-house sales compliance team, which monitors and ensures the quality of our sales process.

As of Q3 2006 we are ranked as the 3rd largest company in the long-term savings and protection market with a market share of 9.33%, premium production worth of 68.5 million USD and approximately 200,000 clients.*

Managing CSR in our business

Aslı Erkanlı, Marketing Director, is the Chair of our CSR committee. This provides CSR representation at executive committee level and accelerates the decision-making process. She also provides senior level support to Hanzade Aytacli, our CSR-nominated manager. Hanzade is responsible for coordinating the information flow and communicating outcomes of CSR projects with the CSR committee as well as all employees. She also coordinates joint projects with Aviva Sigorta, the general insurance business in Turkey.

Since the inception of our CSR committee in 2003, our CSR activities have been led by a team of representatives from different departments, including Human Resources, Legal, Compliance, Customer Communication Centre, Logistics, Finance, Operations and Marketing.

The CSR committee meets regularly to review the CSR programme and all communications to employees are sent from an e-mail address specifically assigned to the committee.
