Managing CSR in our business

In 2006, Sally Turney, Vice-President, Corporate Communications, continued in her role as Aviva Canada’s CSR-nominated manager, with executive sponsorship of the program under Gillian Platt, Executive Vice President, HR and Communications.

The main focus of our CSR program was to build a community investment strategy and develop a signature charity partnership. To this end, a CSR committee was formed with representation from many business units across the country. The new community investment program will be rolled out across the country in 2007. 

As CSR becomes a more formal part of our management strategy, there is an increasing need to expand our communication. In 2006 the CSR section on the company’s intranet site continued to report on our progress in this area, employees gained greater awareness of their company’s commitment to corporate citizenship through intranet articles highlighting community partnerships.
