Aviva is the world's sixth largest insurance group, providing insurance, savings and investment products across Europe, North America and Asia Pacific. We are the largest insurance services provider in the UK and one of the leading providers of life and pension products in Europe. Aviva's vision is to bring prosperity and peace of mind to our 53 million customers worldwide.
Globally, long term insurance and savings accounted for 80% of our business - based on sales in 2009, compared to general insurance and health which makes up the other 20%. Our general insurance mix is approximately 60% personal lines and 40% commercial lines, and is predominantly in Northern Europe and Canada.
