Aviva Investors appoints new corporate affairs director

Aviva Investors, the global asset management business of Aviva plc, today announced the appointment of Paul Lockstone as corporate affairs director. He will report to Erich Gerth, global business development director, and will start in January 2010.
Paul will work closely with the Aviva Investors executive and lead the external and internal global communication activities of the business. His remit includes internal communications, media relations and public affairs.
Paul joins from Edelman, where he has been a managing director since 2005. He is responsible for a wide range of financial clients and is a financial practice leader for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. He has extensive international financial services experience in both established and emerging markets with a particular focus in Europe, the Middle East and the United States. He is co-chair of the Financial Services Forum of British American Business (the UK/US Chamber of Commerce), a member of the Alternative Investment Management Association’s working group on Hedge Fund regulation and a visiting lecturer at Cardiff University’s School of Journalism, Media and Cultural Studies.
Prior to Edelman Paul was with Merlin Corporate and Financial Communications where he was director of banking and financial services. He has also worked in senior communication roles with Alliance & Leicester plc, PwC and NatWest.
