France: Pierre-Emmanuel Lefebvre appointed deputy director of strategy at Aviva France and Stanislas Belot, secretary of the executive committee
19 April, 2010
Aviva, a major player in life insurance and long-term savings, asset management and non-life insurance, announces the appointment of Pierre-Emmanuel Lefebvre as deputy director of strategy and development. Stanislas Belot is to replace him as secretary of the executive committee.
Pierre-Emmanuel Lefebvre, aged 30, graduated from the French engineering institute l'Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Arts et Métiers and holds a masters in international strategy and developed from the ESSEC business school in Paris.
He began his career at Barclays in Paris in 2003, first in the Strategic Development Department and then in the Distribution Department. In 2006, he went to London where he joined the group's Strategy Department for international retail and corporate banking.
From 2006 to 2009, he was special assistant to the chairman of Barclays France, who coordinates the bank's activities in France and has global responsibility for the Premier segment, insurance and investment products.
Pierre-Emmanuel will now be focusing on the areas of organic and inorganic growth in France and internationally. Approached by Aviva France because of his experience with international strategy projects, he joined the company in 2009 as secretary of the executive committee and co-ordinator of the project to transform Aviva's organisational structure in France and throughout Europe.
Stanislas Belot, aged 34, graduated from the École Polytechnique engineering school in 1999, holds a diploma from ENSAE (2001) and an MBA from INSEAD (2006). He started his career in London, in 2001, working as a debt market analyst, first at J P Morgan and then, in 2003, at Barclays Capital.
In 2003, he joined the consulting firm McKinsey, first in France and then in the US, working up from the position of junior consultant to project manager, where he mainly served financial institutions, particularly in the areas of asset management and insurance.
In the US, he spent almost six months working for the McKinsey Global Institute (MGI), McKinsey's economic analysis centre, studying the future of the capital markets after the financial crisis. He also has experience of the high-tech and telecoms sectors. He is now joining Aviva France as secretary of the executive committee.
Jean-Pierre Menanteau, CEO of Aviva France, says "I'm pleased to announce both the new role of Pierre-Emmanuel Lefebvre and the arrival of Stanislas Belot. For the past year, we've benefited from Pierre-Emmanuel's efficiency and precision as secretary of the executive committee, and he's been able to fully get to grips with the cogs of the Aviva machinery.
"Now, he's going to be able to apply his qualities to strengthening our strategic planning and growth in the French market, within the framework of Aviva Europe's Quantum Leap transformation and growth programme. And I'm particularly delighted to welcome Stanislas Belot as the new secretary of the executive committee. His ability to work in a multicultural environment and his sense of organisation will be valuable assets for us."
