As chief marketing & communications officer, Amanda has overall responsibility for all Aviva group marketing, communications and public affairs. She is also the executive sponsor for diversity and in 2011 will take on the chair of the operational risk committee.
Amanda joined Aviva in March 2008 to oversee the rebrand and to set up a global marketing and communications function. She is a member of the Aviva group executive committee.
During Amanda's tenure at Aviva she has overseen significant changes including a major global rebrand. Amanda has 25 years of marketing and advertising experience, including director roles at British Airways Airmiles, BT and British Gas. She is currently a non-executive director at Mothercare plc.
Professional qualifications and memberships
Amanda has a BSc in Psychology from the University of London and is a graduate of the Insead Advanced Management Programme. She is president of the Marketing Society, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts; and on the board of the National Youth Orchestra. Amanda chairs "Front Foot" for the Advertising Association and is on two steering groups for the government. She also mentors for the Marketing Academy.
Family and interests
Amanda is married and has two children. Apart from family life, her main interests outside work are musical. She sings, plays the piano, and seems to be permanently renovating their London home.
