- Life and pension sales in India down 7% to £141m reflecting lapse assumption changes from current market conditions and merger activity in bancassurance partnerships.

- Sales through bancassurance and c.31,000 tied agents in India.
- One of the leading bancassurer in India with 35 bancassurance agreements.
Strategy
- Continue building distribution capabilities India, through the launch of a Direct Sales Team (supported by TM), the launch of an IFA channel and increase penetration in current bancassurance partnerships.
- Enhance quality of sales, productivity and persistency through the launch of the Aviva Sales Training and Recruitment Academy (ASTRA).
