• Aviva-COFCO Life Insurance (50% Aviva share) launched 1 January 2003
• Presence in 10 provinces/municipal cities with 40 city branches.
• Number two in terms of total premium income among foreign players for full year 2008*
• Asset Management JV with COFCO and Aviva Investors signed in April 2008
• Distribution through our direct sales force, agencies, brokers, telemarketing and banks.

FY 2008 Performance

• Life and pension sales in China grew by 66% to 2008 to £296m arising from our expanded distribution network.

• 13 non-exclusive bancassurance partners (national and local)
• 4,772 agents, 2,321 bank outlets and 200 broker partners

Strategy

• Future expansion targeted to reach 10 provinces/municipal cities by 2010 and achieve an average 10% market share in each (10 by 10 by 10)
• Be a top three foreign players
• Roll out in 13 provinces/60 cities by 2011
