Scottish General Insurance transfer (2005)

The general insurance business of Scottish General Insurance Company Limited was transferred to Norwich Union Insurance Limited at 11.59pm (UK time) on 29 June 2005, in accordance with the terms of the Order of the High Court of Justice in England by Mr Justice Evans-Lombe on 20 June 2005 and Part VII of the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000.

The independent expert's report concluded that "... the risk of any policyholder being adversely affected by the proposed transfer is sufficiently remote for it to be appropriate to proceed with the Scheme...".
