National Westminster Life Assurance Ltd and Royal Scottish Assurance plc

National Westminster Life Assurance Ltd (NWL) and Royal Scottish Assurance plc (RSA) became part of the Aviva Group on 31 December 2010. We are planning to transfer policies issued by NWL and RSA to Aviva Life & Pensions UK Limited (Aviva Life), another company within the Aviva Group.

Before we can make this transfer, we have to follow a strict legal process and go to the court for approval. We will ask the court to sanction our proposals for the transfer at a public hearing at the Royal Courts of Justice, Strand, London WC2A 2LL on 21 September 2011. There will be similar hearings in Jersey on 23 September 2011 at 9am and in Guernsey on 27 September 2011 at 10.15am. If the court approves the transfer we expect the transfer to take place on 30 September at 11.59pm.

Please note that the part VII transfer of business from National Westminster Life Assurance Ltd and Royal Scottish Assurance plc to Aviva Life & Pensions UK Ltd has been sanctioned by the courts. The transfers took effect from 11.59pm on 30th September 2011.
