Date: 27 Nov 2008
The stage at the Educational Festival in Jinan.
Aviva-Cofco launched an Educational Festival in Jinan, Shandong Province, this month, to teach customers and the wider population about education in Britain.
Prior to the launch, Aviva-Cofco announced it was working with the British Embassy in China on the project. The two parties aim to provide information and opportunities to help children study in Britain.
"Children's education is the start of a better future for the family," said Hank Yeh, vice president of Aviva-Cofco.
The Aviva-Cofco Educational Festival comprises five parts:
- The Aviva-Cofco Britain - educational consultation,
- A preparation meeting prior to leaving for Britain,
- A special consultation for Aviva-Cofco high-end customers,
- A forum among legal study abroad agencies,
- and the Aviva-Cofco care summer camp.
These activities started in May 2007 throughout China, and will be continued until February 2009, to provide services for 200,000 Aviva-Cofco customers and the wider population.
Unlike similar schemes, it is hoped this one will be more effective because of the collaboration between Aviva-Cofco and the British Embassy. Various educational consultation activities are to be held in Jinan, Yantai, Nanjing and Shijiazhuang for Aviva-Cofco's customers and the local population. These will consist of lectures and roadshows over two successive days.
In addition, Aviva-Cofco's Care Summer Camp will provide customers with an opportunity to visit famous schools in Britain, learn about the British educational system and experience British culture, to help customers make arrangement for their children to study in Britain.
