Aviva India has been ranked amongst the top 25 employers by the Great Places to Work Institute (GPTW) in the "Best Workplaces in India" study for 2008.

Aviva is the only insurance company among the top 25 companies. This is the fourth consecutive year that Aviva India has earned the recognition of being included amongst the best employers in India.

The competition was tough. Two hundred and fifty companies from across different industries competed for honours in the 2008 study. Aviva India is 23rd in the list of "Best Workplaces in India".

The annual study, which is conducted by the GPTW in association with The Economic Times, surveys organisations across India from various industries.

Rather than evaluations by a jury, rankings are based on anonymous employee assessments of their company that follow an internationally standardised methodology developed by GPTW under five categories: fairness, camaraderie, credibility, pride and respect towards their employer.

Bert Paterson, managing director of Aviva India, said: "Inspired by this accolade, I assure you we will invest more time and energy in making Aviva India an even greater place to work.

"I thank all of you for your support and involvement in making Aviva a valued organisation."
